THE GRANS-FASSIAN WINERY:
MOSEL PAR EXCELLENCE
The Grans-Fassian winery founded in 1624, is situated next to the bend in the river Mosel between Leiwen and Trittenheim, one of Germany's most beautiful landscapes. Here wines are produced with uncomprehensing measures, as only is done along the Mosel: an intensive fruit of fine elegance with not too much alcohol but also - as known from Auslese and Eiswein - high quality wines of an overpowering fullness and sensational richness.
The winery owns 9 ha high qualified vineyard sites with Riesling (photo) and Weissburgunder (Pinot blanc). Amongst them the absolute top sites: Leiwener Laurentiuslay, Trittenheimer Apotheke, Drohn Hofberger and Piesporter Goldtröpfchen. The yield is between 30 to 70 hl/ha. The strong soil type "Devon Slate" provides the good drainage and gives the wine the mineralic and racy character.
Our winery ist member of VDP (Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter), the association oft the 200 top winemarkers oft Germany.
